SAFARI WITH CHILDREN - 17 days from € 2195,- p.p.
Experience a 17 day Family safari tour with Safari Adventures through the most awesome nature and game parks of Tanzania, and cap it all with a 5-day beach holiday at a luxury Reef & Beach resort on the exotic island of Zanzibar. After acclimatizing close to the Indian Ocean, we start the tour with a safari through Saadani National Park where you may see wild animals walking on the beach as this park borders onto the ocean. We recommend that you go on a boat safari on the Wami River which is full of crocodiles and hippos.
We then drive to the Mkomazi National Park where we will go on a hiking safari with an armed guide (this is about as close as you can get to wildlife!). We move on to Moshi, a friendly mountain village, where we make a hike to a beautifull waterfall and we visit a coffe plantation where we can taste our own made coffe. Then we drive up to Mto wa Mbu, a village in the heart of Maasai land that is surrounded by well-known game reserves. We will stay at the beautifully located Fanaka Resort for 4 days. The resort has a refreshing swimming pool. We will make a number of day trips from Mto wa Mbu to the Tarangire National Park, famous for its gigantic baobab trees and thousands of elephants. We take game drives to Lake Manyara, where we may see lions in trees, amongst other wildlife, and where the lake is pink due to the presence of thousands of flamingos.
You will see countless wild animals, but should there be one of the Big-5 missing on your list, then there is a good chance you will find it in the Ngorongoro Crate. During the leisure day you have at Mto wa Mbu, you can either stay in the village and relax or join a trip to Lake Eyasi, the location of the ‘Bushmen’ who still live here in their traditional way. After this adventureous Family safari tour we bring you to Arusha airport for your flight to the exotic island of Zanzibar for a tropical island holiday extension.

We arrive early in the afternoon, pitch our tents while the cook makes lunch, and go on our first game drive in a safari jeep with an ‘open’ panorama roof, in search of wild animals.
We have the option of making a cruise on the Wami River which is full of crocodiles and hippos in the afternoon. Day 4: Mkomazi National Park – hiking safari
We leave for the Mkomazi National Game and Nature Reserve Park after breakfast where we will first go on a game drive with a jeep followed by a hike with an armed game ranger in search of wild animals. We will need to be as quiet as possible so as not to disturb the animals. We will also have to consider the colour of our clothing; greens and browns or other dark tints are the most suitable in the bush. You will need comfortable walking shoes for this activity. If you are unable to take part in the hiking safari, you can relax in a shady spot near the jeep that gives you a lovely view of the Mkomazi National Park.

We may be lucky to spot a lion resting in the shade of a giant baobab.

The Fanaka Resort with its swimming pool has a perfect location and we are once again able to leave our luggage at the resort to enjoy one of the highlights of this family safari tour, the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the eighth wonder of the world!
In this special reserve, the Maasai live together with the wild animals and take their cattle to drink at the crater lake. Before descending into the crater, we first travel around the crater rim at a height of 2000 metres. We stop to take some amazing photographs.

We pass a Maasai settlement and will be able to see lions, rhinos and herds of buffalos, zebras, ostriches, warthogs and hundreds of gnus once we reach the bottom of the crater. Close to the lake we will see hippos and thousands of flamingos and pelicans in the lake itself. At the end of this satisfying day, we return to our base at Fanaka at Mto wa Mbu.
